Membership Options

Tier 1

Tier 1 Members have use of studio space at Easthampton Clay with 24-hour access including classroom equipment such as wheels, slab roller, extruder, and use of slips and glazes. Your work will be fired in our kilns, however, members do not have direct access to firing of kilns or the restricted areas of the studio such as the kiln area, clay and raw materials area. Clay must be purchased through the studio. No outside clay is allowed for any reason.

Tier 2

Tier 2 Members have access to glazing and dropping off work to be fired. No use of wheels or other equipment is included. Glaze only. Clay must be purchased through the studio. No outside clay is allowed for any reason.

Tier 3

Tier 3 Affiliated Members are welcome to attend member meetings, participate in the Slack Member chat, and studio sales.


Membership Levels

Members are billed on the first of the month. We offer the option of paying one year in advance for a 10% discount, or six months in advance for a 5% discount. Liz will ask you for your credit card information during your studio orientation meeting. If you are renewing, we have your card on file.

Security Deposit

A deposit of $135 is required at the time of signing to be returned to the member at the end of the lease or upon adequate notice required. The deposit will be held against any lost key, late charges, glaze runs, or other fees not paid directly by the member.

Member Terms and Agreement:

  • Members are billed on the first of the month. Fee does not include clay.
  • No outside clay is allowed in the studio.
  • All clay is to be purchased through Easthampton Clay via Slack and Venmo.
  • All members are required to have the Slack and Venmo apps on thier phone. (Both are free.)
  • Members are required to sign the Release and Waiver of Liability form.
  • Members will be reviewed at the end of their lease term, at which time studio agreements can be renewed for the next term. Review criteria will include:
    • Use of studio.
    • Participation at Easthampton Clay’s sales and events.
    • Timely payment of all fees.
  • Members must give 3 months notice (2 months for 6-month leases) prior to vacating their shelf and breaking their lease agreement, or rent will be charged through the remainder of the lease term.
  • Members must adhere to all of the studio policies posted on the Easthampton Clay website.
  • Members are invited to participate in EHC’s studio sales held in May and December.
  • Members are required to attend four member meetings per year - dates and times will be posted in Slack.
  • All members receive a 10% discount for Easthampton Clay classes and workshops.
  • Members are required to bring in their own tools, including bats and underglazes.
  • All studio equipment, tools, etc, must remain in the studio.
  • Molds and other non-clay materials need to be returned to the public area within three days of use so others may have a chance to use them.

Easthampton Clay Waiver Release and Studio Rules

Please be sure to read our Waiver Release and Studio Rules. All members must sign the waiver, and our studio rules have been updated.
